Oh jeez, it's seriously been a while since I've appeared on my DA. Apologies, as always, but this time I have a very valid excuse.
I've officially launched my magazine! Myself and three other co-founders are extremely proud to launch The Uprising Review! It's been a long time coming and a good amount of hard work between the three of us, but we are open to accepting submissions as I type this. Once we've gathered a good amount, we'll be launching with the stories and getting an official readership feel.
Which brings me to my next point, I'm looking for writers who would love to submit! I cannot guarantee publication with us (we are looking for quality), but I would love to be able to see some of the amazing and talented writers here.
The Uprising Review has no genre restrictions (besides erotica, which we will not accept). We accept flash fiction up to 1,500 words (anything less than 500 words we won't be able to pay you for but we'll still publish you) and will pay $5 and short stories between 1,501-3,000 words and will pay $10 for.
We focus on free speech within writing. Creative expression shouldn't be censored and sometimes uncomfortable topics need to be explored in a safe, creative manner in order to understand the perspective of others.
I'm super excited for this project guys, I honestly cannot wait to read some more fantastic stories (as I've already received a great many few). If you're a writer yourself or know of any writers, feel free to point them in our direction. Guidelines for format can be found under 'submissions' on our site, The Uprising Review
Happy writing my lovelies!

The what and the up
Thank you guys for all the birthday wishes yesterday :) I really do appreciate it. I found out one of my favourite authors is continuing her trilogy that ended in 2008 (Cornelia Funke, her Inkworld series) so that had me freaking out all over the place. Then I found out another one of my favourite authors (Brom) already came out with a new book! Which, I immediately purchased. So it was a pretty good day as a whole.
On to the writing news!
I still haven't heard word on when my newest publication, Real Doll, is coming out. But I am going to pre-warn all of my watchers interested in reading it: this is not a story for anyone under the age of
Publication information
So, I've made a little list of all the stuff that's been published since I started getting things sent out. You can find that in my scraps, because it isn't really worth the waste of a deviation: Publication List. It'll be updated as I go along.
In the meantime, I'll post a link to my newest piece (which you can read FOR FREE) here:
http://www.violethourpress.com/the-violet-hour-magazine Issue 1.3 is a horror flash fiction and poetry issue. I've already read it all and it's got some fantastic pieces in it. My piece, "Rafters", is also featured.
Hope everyone is having a fantastic week!

High School Rewrite Challenge
So, I don't have any new stuff for you guys because most of the shorts I write are being sent out to publishers because I have a problem :') (I'm waiting to hear back from five different publishers while working out a potential deal with another. Cause I still have a problem.)
In the meantime, I want to get some 'new' stuff to you guys. So I decided to do a rewrite challenge. I've dug through my DA account and found some old short stories that I posted ages ago. Goal: rewrite and update them.
Here's the old shorts, feel free to tell me which ones you want to see rewritten first (feel free to title judge, that might make things more interest
Officially a Published Writer
Hello my lovelies!
I'm making a journal to tell you all that I'm officially being published. My short story, Dryad, is featured in an American magazine. It'll be out end of this month/start of November. I'll be posting a link to where you can purchase it once it's out. It'll be available in print and ebook.
Here's a little blurb to find out if you're interested ;) :
She's in love with a man she met a few hours ago, one whose name she doesn't know. She can't even remember his eyes. But his touch is soft, his smile sweet. His scent reminds her of apple blossoms. She would do anything for him. Least, she thinks she would. There's a thought in
