She was made of ruffles and silk,
a pale blossom of bright chiffon and hemmed rose petals.
With the blush of deepen red along the angled plains of her cheeks,
the russet waves of thickly draped fabric over her swaying hips,
she was nothing more than a blossom for sale at the merchant's stall.
A pretty thing of pale blooms and brightened petals.
A stalk of spindled green and teardrop dew.
Pull her apart, bit by bit.
Play a little wishing game.
Unfold the layers of coloured silk,
find the bones of hooped skirts and corsets hidden beside strings of beaded flesh.
Her back is laced tightly with blackened ribbons,
enough to still her breathing chest.
She was made of ruffles and silk,
pale as the moon and bright as the darkest rose.
They peeled her apart, inch by careful inch.
Petals removed with a thirsty vengeance,
Bones torn away and skin spilt apart.
Chiffon stained deeply with blood christened jewels.
